CLUB PHILOSOPHY
WE WANT TO PROMOTE
PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT: instill a positive attitude toward lifetime fitness
PSYCHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT: participation in track and field provides an
environment to teach the child to compete and accept the outcomes of competition.
We want them to develop healthy attitudes toward winning and losing.
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT: track presents opportunities to teach honesty, respect for
others, graciousness in winning and losing and the assumption of responsibility
for their actions.
FUN AND AMUSEMENT: we want track to be a positive pastime and healthy source
of amusement
GOALS:
Overall Goals develop each child to maximize their abilities.
We want to help each child develop Outcome Goals, time or distances they want to
reach or winning at nationals.
Hand in hand with that are Performance Goals, learning the strategies and
techniques they will use to reach their Outcome Goals.
